It has been a really busy stretch and I’ve been excited to get to this blog post all week! Jen and Kyle were an absolute delight to work with and I’m just thrilled with how their images turned out.
We started the day with the girls getting ready at Jen and Kyle’s house. Everyone was so friendly and Jen had added her own special touches in a number of places. One addition that had just about everyone in tears were the two photos of her dad that were attached to her shoes. He had passed away a number of years ago but this way he still got to walk her down the aisle – how special!
I knew Kyle was a big Jets fan but while we were at their house I realized that in just one year Kyle has found a way to purchase every single item that the Winnipeg Jets have produced. :) It was only fitting to get a shot of the rings with the Jets logo
After we captured the couple’s first look in a nearby park the wedding party headed downtown to the Manitoba Hydro building. Jen suggested the silhouette shot on the stairs and I absolutely love how it turned out; good idea Jen! Just outside the building we got a few more group shots and a quick shot with all the girls with the Coach purses Jen had given them.
Since the reception was in Headingly we had decided to head back to this area to take a few photographs at the train bridge. One of Jen’s bridesmaids had the cute sign made and it was a wonderful touch for these shots. With the sun being at its peak and it feeling pretty hot, we headed under the bridge and captured some spectacular shots of Jen and Kyle. Of course, I had to make one last stop at the old white barn that I love so much. It’s a stunning backdrop for a bride in a beautiful white dress!
Then it was off to Breezy Bend for the ceremony and reception. Jen and Kyle had their ceremony outside under the trees and it was a perfect setting for their wedding. As Jen came down the aisle, they were both fighting back the tears. :) After the ceremony they had cocktails for the guests as we quickly did the family photographs. Then it was time to get the party started. The ballroom was beautifully decorated with little personal touches. I especially loved the centre-pieces as well as the flip flops they provided for guests. No sore feet for dancing at this wedding! After some awesome speeches came the dance and to finish off all the formal part of the night Jen danced with both her brothers. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the building.
Jen and Kyle, it was a joy to capture your wedding day! I hope your wedding images will bring all those wonderful memories flooding back :)
