Jen & Kyle picked the perfect day for their engagement session since it was the last really warm day before the weather changed here in Winnipeg. They wanted a natural setting that would show off all the colours of fall, so Assiniboine Forest was the perfect location. Something else interesting about Jen & Kyle: they’re the first couple to bring their cat along for the session, I’ve had dogs at the shoot before but never a cat! Kyle has had this cat since he was a young kid and really wanted a couple shots with it and I’m always happy to include something truly unique and meaningful in each session I do with couples.
They were so much fun to work with and were constantly laughing… at each other and I think a couple of times at me! :) I had a couple spots in mind be we just enjoyed the weather and wandered around the park for an hour. Jen pointed out this large puddle and wondered if we could get some reflection shots; it was perfect and I love when couples feel comfortable enough to suggest ideas as they come up. Then at the end of the session Jen really wanted some kind of jumping shot, so we tried a couple different ideas but I loved this last one where Kyle is jumping over Jen, even though she looks a touch nervous! :)
Thanks guys and enjoy!
