Pine Ridge Hollow is a favourite place of ours to visit. We love the area (it’s so pretty and peaceful), Meagan loves the shopping, and the restaurant has fabulous food. It’s always a privilege to shoot a wedding there but Katrina and Trevor’s wedding was especially so since Katrina is the owner’s daughter!
I really enjoyed working with Katrina and Trevor through the whole wedding process. Even though I knew Trevor when he was younger (we went to the same church), I had a lot of fun spending time with them both during their engagement shoot and getting to know them better. Both of them, as well as their families, are completely easy-going and friendly people, but don’t let that fool you… their wedding reflected their personalities but was completely elegant and obviously well-thought out, down to the tiniest details.
We started the day out at Katrina’s family home, nearby Pine Ridge. This was a stunning backdrop not only for their ceremony, but for pictures too. The entire house and property is beautiful to start with but it had been decorated on this day to truly make it shine. Katrina and Trevor couldn’t have asked for a better day for an outdoor wedding; there was no threat of rain but it wasn’t too hot either.
Katrina and her girls looked amazing in the monochromatic colour scheme she had chosen. They insisted it had been chosen long before the royal wedding followed suit in April! We were able to spend a good hour around the family property, using the different beautiful locations there. I think it’s so special that Katrina was able to not only have her wedding ceremony, but also her wedding photos, all in the place she grew up. After the girls went back in the house to freshen-up before the ceremony, Trevor and the guys showed up for their shots. The boys weren’t quite as stunning as the girls but we worked with what we got!
Their wedding ceremony was held in the back-yard, looking over the water. They included some really unique touches throughout their day but one thing I really appreciated was at the end of the ceremony. With the couple and their guests celebrating with a champagne-toast, dozens of white balloons were released into the blue sky. Afterwards we were able to take time to do some shots of Katrina and Trevor, as well as the entire wedding party, while their guests enjoyed delicious drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Right before the reception started we were able to squeeze in a few more shots at Pine Ridge Hollow, a place near and dear to Katrina’s heart.
I knew the decor and flowers would be stunning for this wedding and it didn’t disappoint in any way! In fact, I really appreciated the elegant simplicity that the simple colour scheme gave, while the numerous special touches displayed throughout the reception showed the thought and effort that the Pine Ridge staff put into this wedding. Every nook and cranny had something beautiful and interesting to see, and outside the wedding tent, the grounds had been decorated with flowers, candles and lights.
Thanks so much to both of you, Katrina and Trevor, for inviting me to be a part of your special day. Both of your families are so obviously loving and kind and it’s easy to see this reflected in you guys as a couple. I hope you enjoy the images!
