Kristi and Trevor were fantastic to photograph and it was a real privilege to capture their day. Their wedding was all about fun yet it still had a very elegant and upscale feel and it still incorporated a lot of the outdoors. They both have a great fashion sense and their choices for their big day perfectly reflected this. Kristi looked stunning and her dress (purchased from Bliss Bridal Boutique) was truly beautiful. The rest of the girls looked awesome and were outfitted by BCBG Max Azria. I loved the colour Kristi chose; it was something I hadn’t seen yet this summer. Trevor looked very dashing as well in his custom-tailored Hugo Boss suit.
The ceremony was out at Pine Ridge Hollow, which was a beautiful backdrop for Kristi and Trevor to commit themselves to each other. We decided to shoot at a few different spots in Pine Ridge Hollow before we headed back to the city. It’s amazing how different things look from last year since we’ve gone from a really wet summer to a very dry one this year. Even with the time crunch we managed a quick stop at the side of the road to do some shots in a wheat-field. Kristi had done some modeling before, so she had no problem working the camera. :) This meant we got some really strong images with lots of variety in the fields, even though there wasn’t a lot of time.
This was my thrid wedding in a row that the couple had booked the Concert Hall. It’s definitely a new favourite of mine. We didn’t have tons of time so I used a couple of my favorite shots (love the one of Kristi sitting on the bench in the window light) along with a couple new ideas I had. Afterwards we quickly scooted into the Exchange for 10 minutes to grab a few more shots and then it was off the the Fort Garry Hotel.
One of the first things you noticed at both the reception and ceremony was the beautiful arrangement of flowers that were everywhere. Kristi and Trevor trusted their vision with Rosie from Mona Lisa Florist. Rosie also enlisted Lesbia from Savvy event planning who worked her magic with all the linens. Nina fromCake Studio provided a beautifully unique cake with some really delicate touches. She continues to amaze me with what she can do with a cake!
Probably one of my favourite parts of the day came after the speeches, when the party really got started! Kristi and Trevor had The Ron Paley Big Band for the reception, which was amazing! Turns out Kristi sings in the band and she chose a couple of numbers she wanted to perform on her wedding day; she brought the house down! :)
Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your fabulous and fun day! I really had a great time.
