Meagan and I love Southern California; we even chose to spend our honeymoon in the San Diego area because we love it so much. Well, Erin & Mike have the privilege of living in Carlsbad, just north of San Diego. I have to say I’m somewhat jealous! However, Erin was raised in Winnipeg so they quickly realized that a wedding planner would be an necessity for in planning the kind of day they wanted. They chose to work with Andrea, from Soiree Event planning, who always does the most amazing job of organizing the event and creating the most beautiful receptions.
Erin and Mike were an absolute delight to work with and they were so relaxed the entire day. Maybe it was because this was the second time they were married… Yep, that’s right, the second time married to each other! But it’s not as crazy as it sounds. ;) Since Erin is Canadian, they ran into some immigration issues so they were actually married (for the first time!) last year in Vegas. I guess you could say this wedding was all for show, but what a show it was and it was a whole lot of fun too!
Erin really didn’t mind where we went during the day for pictures but she knew she wanted her photos to represent Winnipeg and beautiful city we live in. That way she could look back at her wedding images and remember their special day and the place she grew up in. I love the opportunity to show Winnipeg off. Yes, I love places like Southern California, but I’m really proud of our hometown too. Sometimes we take what we have for granted and Winnipeg offers some really beautiful and unique spots.
The wedding day started off at the Fort Garry Hotel and then we headed off the the Legislative Building. I don’t think I have ever seen such beautiful light indoors as we did on this day; it was amazing! We had a perfect blue sky day so afterwards we spend some time at the St. Boniface bridge and then downtown for some much needed food and casual pictures in the Exchange District. The day flew by and I was thrilled with how many amazing shots we got!
Erin’s flowers were stunning, as were the centre pieces for the reception. All the credit belongs to McDiarmid flower. The linens were provided by Planned Perfectly, who helped make the reception look fantastic. High Tea Bakery supplied the beautiful and scrumptious cake.
