It seems like lately, when I’m heading out to do an engagement shoot, I’ve been looking forward to meeting the groom for the first time. A few of my recent brides have met me for a consultation on their own for varying reasons. Hillary ended up being one of these brides as Mike works overseas, so it was nice to meet him during the engagement session this past week.
Prior to our shoot, Hillary had just chosen her flowers from The Little Flower Shop and Peggy mentioned that she had some cool barns Hillary could use for her engagement session. The following day we headed out to Peggy’s place despite the looming thunder clouds. I had talked to Hillary about still doing their session in the rain (I think it would have ended up being pretty awesome anyway!) so we were all prepared, but as it turned out the rain pretty much held off.
We wandered around the property and both Mike and Hillary loved the big country barn which made for some stunning images. We also found a really cool run down truck out back which was fun to play around with. My favorite shots came with the bright red barn as the backdrop. What a warm feel to a classic country photo shoot!
Enjoy and we’re looking forward to ringing in the new year with you guys!
