Kristin and Landon wanted to do their engagement session down in the Exchange just to get a little bit of a different feel since they’re having a wedding out in the country. They really lucked out with great weather, missing the rainy weather again this weekend which seems to be a trend right now. It would be nice if that ended soon! :)
They were both a bit unsure of how the session would go as this was the first time they had been professionally photographed. I went over a couple quick pointers and reassured them it would get much easier as we got going. They settled in quite quickly and before long they were themselves and looking great in front of the camera. That’s why engagement sessions are so valuable.
I had a few different spots in mind; a couple that I love shooting at regularly and some that I hadn’t been to in almost a year. Even though I often photograph couples in the same general location, I usually try to go to different spots and try new things to keep all the images looking fresh and new. We stopped at these beautiful, old, green loading-dock doors and got some really great images there. This was however the first time a couple has ever been pooped on though! :) We didn’t notice the pigeon setting up shop on top of the building… luckily Kristin’s a country girl and a couple minutes later we were ready to move onto our next location.
The light was amazing last night and everywhere we went it seemed to be shinning in the perfect location. My favorite images are the series of five B&W’s of them kissing and laughing in one of the alleys.
I really enjoyed the shoot last night in the city and I’m looking forward to the upcoming country wedding!
