Nikki & John’s wedding

When things don’t go according to plans, you make the most of it. That was exactly the case with Nikki and John’s wedding; despite all the rainfall on the day of their wedding we got some amazing shots and these guys had the best attitudes. The fall colours were beautiful with the leaves just starting to change and John’s parents’ property was a perfect backdrop to the day.

We used some skillful maneuvering to make sure John didn’t see Nikki in her gown before the ceremony, even though they got ready in the same house. The guys were able to brave the weather beforehand but we kept the girls warm and dry by shooting in the house. It offered some really unique architecture and beautiful light and I think the shots look wonderful, despite all the rain! After a heartfelt ceremony for these guys, we passed around the umbrellas so we could capture some of the beauty of this fall wedding. Nikki and John were great sports and I’m pretty sure they’ll feel the shots were worth it. :)

The Gates did a fantastic job catering the reception in some less than ideal weather conditions. The food was fabulous! Just as the sun set the weather broke, allowing the evening to be capped off with an amazing show by Archangel Fireworks. This was a really special touch.

Congrats, Nikki and John! Hope you enjoy looking back on your day. :)
