It was such a joy to photograph Katie and Colin’s wedding. We’ve been friends since we taught their junior high Sunday school class and that friendship has grown as their own relationship has grown. They are a beautiful couple, inside and out, and we are sincerely happy for them.
The day started out at Katie’s parents’ house where all the girls got ready together. It was a really fun time and I love all the expressions and little moments we managed to capture.
Katie and Colin had a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church and afterwards they provided cake and lemonade for their guests at Vimy Ridge Park across the street. After some family photos the bride and groom were able to mingle with some of their guests and have some relaxing time after the hustle and bustle of the morning.
Since it ended up being a nice, sunny afternoon we headed to the grounds of the Legislature. I love some of the shots with the bright blue sky in the background and also the ones with the blossoms; there are only one or two weekends of the year when we are able to use those as a backdrop for wedding photos. This wedding party was a lot of fun and pretty easy to photograph too. :) We had a great time with them throughout the day and especially when we were able to kick-back and relax mid-afternoon at Original Joe’s.
Since Katie and Colin’s reception was at Breezy Bend we took advantage of some of the beautiful locations in and around there. Their reception was full of personal little touches and unique details, and we all had a really fun night.
Katie and Colin, thanks for including us in your day. We loved being able to celebrate with you!
