Meghan and Michael were the perfect mix of being organized yet relaxed on their wedding day. They knew exactly what they wanted however they were still really calm about how it all came together and about the flow of the day.
Meghan got ready with her family and bridesmaids at the Fort Garry Hotel, which provided a beautiful backdrop and lots of room for everyone. Academy Florist did a spectacular job with Meghan’s flowers – one of my favourite arrangements of the year! Once Meghan was ready she went and found Michael who was waiting for her on the 7th floor. I love these “first looks” – even in their initial reactions you could tell the love they have for each other.
Once we finished up all the family photos at the hotel we drove down the street to the Legislative Building. Even though there is still construction at the Leg, there are some really beautiful locations for photographs. I absolutely love the shots of the couple at the end of one of the hallways.
In planning the day we made sure we had plenty of time to get to the church for the ceremony. It was a good thing because traffic and parking were terrible and we all got there just in time! St.Ignatius is a beautiful church and had the perfect look to fit in with their wedding.
The weather was quite chilly but I still wanted to get some outdoor shots downtown with the wedding party. They were all troopers and never hesitated… though they did huddle up from time to time. :) We captured some really stunning portraits of both Meghan and Michael together and separate. It’s always nice when you have time to head indoors for a coffee and a drink; it’s a great opportunity for some candid shots of the couple and wedding party.
Before the reception started Meghan and Michael exchanged letters with each other. What a very special moment to capture!
It was a perfect day, you guys! I had so much fun capturing your wedding. :)
