Several years ago Katie and Colin were in the Junior High Sunday School class that Meagan and I taught. Now they’re getting married; you just never know how things are going to end up! We’re so glad to be part of their lives since they’re such special people and now we get to photograph their wedding.
Katie decided on a fall engagement session since it would be totally different from the summer wedding they are planning. They didn’t have a strong preference on a location so we decided on Waterfront drive as it would give us so many different options. Like many shoots this fall their original session was canceled due to the rain and wind but we found another day that worked and even though it was a little chilly, the weather was much much better.
We met up on Waterfront Drive and wandered around to some of the locations that I had scouted out. I love the shots down on the dock and in the tall prairie grass! It’s a perfect Manitoba spot. :) Towards the end of the session they were getting a little chilled and what better way to warm up than to do some running! Colin and Katie are a fun-loving couple so these images suited them perfectly. We finished off with some more nature shots down by the bank of the Red River. The sun started to show itself a little more and provided some beautiful back-light for this part of the session.
Katie and Colin, I had so much fun photographing you guys. Meagan and I are blessed to be friends with you both and we’re very excited to be capturing your big day!
