Jenn & Brian’s wedding

This fall hasn’t had the best weather: rain, rain and more rain. We’ve had a tough time having to reschedule engagement sessions throughout the week but every Saturday it seems the rain stops and the weather clears just enough to allow for some spectacular weddings to continue on as planned. Jenn and Brian’s was no exception. :)

Jenn decided to get ready with her mom and the girls at The Fairmont and they had one of my favourite rooms – perfect to shoot in. Brian had put his crafty skills to work to create Jenn a beautiful note to start the day off, along with a gorgeous bracelet from Tiffany & Co. This guy knows how to treat a girl! Jenn’s colors for the whole wedding were incorporated by The Floral Fixx for all the flowers.

The morning sped by but we arrived at Niakwa Country Club for the ceremony right on time. The room was beautifully decorated by Dream Day Decorators. They had a meaningful and personal ceremony, and they were both so excited to be married since it ended up being almost one year exactly from when they first met!

With a chance of rain still in the forecast we zipped outside afterward to make sure we still captured some of the fall colours. :) Niakwa had some beautiful spots that we could easily walk to and I just loved the red leaves still left on the bushes! I always suggest to my couples to book 1 or 2 indoor locations just in case the weather isn’t great, especially if it’s a fall wedding. Jenn and Brian booked the Hamilton Building but on the way we made a quick stop at the Esplanade Riel to capture some wonderful shots of our city. The Hamilton Building continues to be one of my favourite locations to photograph on the wedding day. Our second stop was the Manitoba Hydro Building which gave a very modern and clean cut look to their images, something quite different from the other locations we had chosen. Their last stop was at the Fyxx, the place where Jenn & Brian had their very first date. :) What a special spot and I loved the idea to incorporate that into their wedding day.

With the cocktail hour just a short time away we headed back to Niakwa to allow the couple and the wedding party to unwind and relax before the reception. I now had some time to capture all the details that were set up for the reception. The room once again was very beautiful and the cake was simple and elegant, another great job by High Tea Bakery!

Thanks Jenn and Brian for allowing me to capture your special day!
