Yes that is correct… this is the month of Kim’s. :)
It’s hard to believe it’s a year since I did Kim and Corey’s engagement session when they brought their guitars out into the field. We had so much fun and I knew they would be really relaxed and just want to enjoy their wedding day with their friends and family.
We started it off with the girls getting ready at Inn at the Forks. Kim had an amazing dress that she ordered from Bliss Bridal Boutique and she looked absolutely beautiful. Then it was off to the ceremony which was at the conservatory at Assiniboine Park. In eight years of doing weddings this was my first time doing a ceremony there and I loved it. What a fabulous location; it feels like you’re outdoors but has none of the worry about the weather.
Kim and Corey both love the rural feel to some of my photographs and really wanted some shots at an old barn. Being so close to the “white barn” I like to use, we quickly headed over there to grab some shots of the couple as well as some fun group shots. It had felt like a warm day until we were in the wide open prairies with the wind blowing! With time fading quickly we made one more quick stop on the side of the road to capture some gorgeous shots in the tall prairie grass. I think these are my favourites.
The Grey Cup was at The Forks on this day so we knew we had to head back there. One of Corey’s groomsmen had a connection and arranged for the wedding party to get some time with the cup. What great shots! Everyone had so much fun and how many couples have that image from their wedding? :) After a few more shots in the hotel we headed down to the water. With the docks still in the water and the sun getting lower in the sky it made for some spectacular shots… though some of the girls and I were a little nervous about the sturdiness of those docks. :)
With the sun starting to set we headed to the reception and had just enough time for a quick caffeine fix at Starbucks.
Thanks for a wonderful day, it was a joy capturing your love for each other!
