Kim and Tyler were pretty brave planning a beach wedding at the end of September… who knows what the weather could have in store? But it ended up being the perfect beach wedding – the perfect temperature and the perfect scenery.
I’ve known Kim for a while and I’ve gotten to know Tyler through this whole wedding process. They are a fun couple and their whole wedding party reflected this. Everyone was relaxed and ready to have a good time. Kim and the girls got ready at their hotel in Gimli, which made it really easy to get to the ceremony since it was held on the beach right out front. :) They included lots of personal touches, including the officiant (who was family), the guitar music as they came down the aisle, and even the fun beach balls instead of confetti.
I’m not overly familiar with shooting in Gimli so we had scouted out several locations before the start of the day. It was so nice because everything was really close-by, giving us lots of time to shoot. We made sure we incorporated some truly “Gimli” touches, like the main street shops, the sailboats, and the beach, and I love the contrast of the bright blue sky. But despite the misleading weather this was still a FALL wedding so we made sure to include some of the beautiful colours of the leaves too. After finishing up with the wedding party we headed up the highway a bit to take some shots of just Kim and Tyler. The scenery was beautiful at Camp Morton and I love the shots here; everything looks peaceful and romantic.
The reception was in the hotel banquet room, looking out onto the beach. These two couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day or evening; ater the sun set an awesome full moon shone down on the water. Kim and Tyler wanted to make sure their guests had a great time and they did not disappoint.
Thanks for such an awesome day. Enjoy!
