In case you missed it, Katrina and Trevor were a fantastic couple that were truly a delight to capture.
They had their ceremony out at Katrina’s parents and the reception was held at the always beautiful Pineridge Hollow.

Tara and Paul are such a friendly and easy-going couple. Good thing since the weather didn’t cooperate at all for their engagement session. We’ve had a beautiful spring here in Winnipeg, but unfortunately we picked one of the worst days to do the shoot. But like true Manitobans, we carried on and didn’t let a little wind and cold stop us! I love the way the images turned out; it just goes to show that bad weather doesn’t mean a bad omen for your photos. :)
Tara and Paul are having more of a rural feel for their wedding so we decided it would be great to do something downtown for their engagement session in order to get some contrast. Of course they needed to include a very important part of their family, Utah! He was great and very interested in everything that was going on in the Exchange. :) We walked around to a few different locations and ended up with some fantastic images that will look amazing in their guestbook.
Thanks for a great afternoon!

Catherine and Klaus have been a fantastic couple to work with right from when we first met. It’s been fun getting to know them better through their engagement session this past summer and all the other little things that come with planning a wedding! I always love building this rapport with my clients and it makes for a really comfortable and relaxed wedding day.
Despite the weather, which was slightly disappointing after the summer like temps we’d been having, Catherine and all her girls were upbeat and full of smiles. Catherine had her hair stylist come out to her place as well as Sarah from Two chicks and a bag of makeup. It was a relaxed morning and I had plenty of time to photograph the details… something I love to have time to do! From her bright purple Kate Spades to her stunning dress (from 7th Avenue), it was all fun to photograph.
After the close and personal service at Messiah Lutheran Church we headed off to the Hydro Building. Both Dave and Breanne from their wedding party work there so I was pretty pumped about our “behind the scenes access”! I have to say a big thank you to Dave who showed me around a few days before the wedding, allowing me to gather some great location ideas to save me time on the wedding day. There are so many amazing places in the building that just don’t get seen by most people! My favourite images probably came from the patio area. It was pretty cold but I think it was worth it since the wind blowing gave some great movement to Catherine’s veil. I also enjoyed photographing in the common area that had some beautiful leading lines and plenty of light. Love the image of Catherine walking and laughing! I would have loved another hour shooting there but before I knew it time was up. :)
We made our second stop at a beautiful house that belonged to the family of one of the bridesmaids. The shots from the dining room ended up looking pretty classy – I guess a huge, crystal chandelier will do that! Catherine loved the floral wall paper in the piano room so we made sure we included it. Our last stop was back in Headingly. The wind was pretty cold by this stage so we made it quick at the train bridge… just for Klaus. :)
Klaus is the head chef at Breezy Bend so it was only natural to have the reception there. I have to say I’d been looking forward to the reception meal for a while, knowing that he would plan something extra special. It didn’t disappoint! The gang at Breezy Bend spent all week setting up for the reception and the results were stunning. Catherine also had a lot of help planning her big day from one of her bridesmaids, Andrea, who owns Soiree event planning.Planned perfectly supplied all the linen’s and McDiarmid Flowers supplied all the flowers for the whole day.
From the start of the day at their house to the fabulous reception, both Meagan and I really enjoyed spending the day with Klaus and Catherine. They are an awesome couple and it’s easy to see why they have such good friends.
Congrats guys!

It’s always nice when couples refer you to their friends. This is what happened with Jocelyn and Dan; they’re friends of two different couples I’ve photographed over the last few years. As soon as I met these guys I knew the they were going to be a ton of fun. Jocelyn has a constant smile on her face and is so encouraging. Dan is always making Jocelyn and everyone else laugh and you can’t help but have good time around him.
Jocelyn and Dan decided to not have a formal wedding party and instead blocked off a section during their wedding day that allowed them to meet their close friends downtown at the King’s Head. This was a really fun and relaxed time – so reflective of their personalities. With this in mind, we started the day off with Jocelyn and all her girl friends getting ready at their house. Dan got ready just down the street at their friends’ house, making it pretty convenient to arrange for them to have their first look. The weather was perfect so they saw each other for the first time in the snow covered field across from their house. What a beautiful moment for a winter wedding!
Afterwards we headed to the Legislative Building where we were able to spend some time shooting both inside and out. In winter the sun is a lot lower in the sky so it was amazing to photograph here with very different lighting conditions from the prime summer months. Love the shots of the them walking down the path with the Legislature in the background. Another one of my favourite shots came with the two of them on the staircase. Then it was off to the King’s Head where we spent some time with both the girls and guys separately for some group shots. The girls braved the brisk weather and did an amazing job not showing how cold they really were. :)
After a few more quick shots downtown we headed over to Niakwa Golf and Country Club for the wedding. This was a beautiful location for both the ceremony and reception. The ceremony had a personal touch since the dad of one of their close friends actually married the couple. Following the ceremony everyone had a chance to raise their glasses in a toast to the new married couple. When the couple had their first kiss Dan gave a big fist pump for all to see. :)
The couple had a number of other vendors that helped make their day possible;
Jocelyn’s dress was from 7th Ave. Bridal salon
Dan’s suit was custom tailored from Eph apparel
Jocelyn’s flowers were stunning and provided by Beyond Flowers
Linens were provided by Planned Perfectly
Thanks for a wonderful day!
